Dr. Shenetta Malkia-Sapp Ph.D is the CEO of Sable Edge Realty and Sable Edge Management. Sable Edge Management is a full-service property management firm, while Sable Edge Realty is a full-service brokerage serving Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia and Georgia, with new states coming soon.
Known to many as “The PM” or “Broker of the City,” Dr. Malkia-Sapp Ph.D brings over 25 years of experience in property management, asset management, and project management for rehabs and construction. She assumed her role as Broker in December 2021 with a bold vision to transform the real estate industry.
Dr. Malkia-Sapp Ph.D is dedicated to finding the best possible solutions in any circumstance. A patient, understanding humanitarian, she draws from her own experiences of needing help to now serve others.
Her journey began with a certification in affordable housing while managing HOPE VI communities and conventional multi-family properties. Today, Dr. Malkia-Sapp Ph.D holds a Broker’s license in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virgina and Georgia with plans to expand to additional states. She is also licensed as a Property Manager in the District of Columbia.
A native of Queens, New York, Dr. Malkia studied TV & Film Production at the American InterContinental University in Atlanta before continuing her education at Bowie State University, where she majored in Business Administration. She is a nationally certified affordable housing property manager, holding the prestigious SHCM® designation, and is a proud member of NARPM®.
Serving buyers, sellers, and investors, Dr. Malkia-Sapp Ph.D “Makes it Look Like Magic.” Her expertise spans sales, purchases, lease-ups, rehabs, asset management, and project management across both multi-family and commercial sectors, including relocation assistance.
Over her career, Dr. Malkia-Sapp Ph.D has managed portfolios ranging from 500 to 1,500 units, specializing in increasing revenue and maintaining high occupancy rates. Committed to client satisfaction, she lives by the philosophy of under-promising and over-delivering.
Beyond her real estate career, Dr. Malkia-Sapp Ph.D is the Founding President and Executive Director of Empowerment Essence, a 501(c)(3) organization based in Riverdale, Maryland. Empowerment Essence is dedicated to eradicating bullying and suicide, starting within Maryland and D.C. communities. From 2014 to 2019, Dr. Malkia-Sapp Ph.D also served as a Commissioner on Maryland’s Governor’s Commission for Suicide Prevention.
Her vision for Empowerment Essence is rooted in her personal journey of resilience and renewed strength, reflecting her unwavering commitment to serving and uplifting others.
